If you hear the name Yandex, you're likely to think of Russia, where it is the leading search engine with over 60% market share. However, in 2012 Yandex launched a Turkish version of its search engine, with the aim of breaking Google's monopoly in the country and reaching a share of 20%. But how is it doing? And does it really have what it takes to compete outside its home market? Digital marketer Umay Jones takes a deeper look at both search engines and shares her findings.
